The Comedy Store and Westside Comedy Theater occupy very different positions in LA comedy. The Store is the Sunset Strip legend — the biggest names, multiple rooms, and a place where comedy history is made nightly. Westside Comedy Theater on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica specializes in improv, sketch, and alternative comedy — it's more of a training ground and performance space for emerging talent than a traditional headliner club. If you want world-class stand-up from established names, the Store delivers. If you want to see improv, sketch shows, and the experimental side of LA comedy in a beachside setting, Westside is your spot.
